Submission Terms & Conditions

By submitting your work to Nature Insights, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Eligibility & Submission Guidelines

•    All submissions must be in English.
•    Submissions must be original and related to nature, the environment, or climate change within the categories of 
o    Feature Articles: Research articles, policy analysis, case studies, essays dedicated to specific topics. 
o    Storytelling & Narratives: Personal experiences, creative writing, environmental journalism.
o    Radical Ideas & Wild Theories: Speculative essays, unconventional solutions, climate fictions
o    Virtual Multimedia Features: Photography, videos, illustrations 
•    Written submissions should adhere to formatting guidelines:
o    Short Description/Summary: 100 words (objectives, methodology, key findings).
o    Full Papers: 800-2500 words (research articles, reviews, policy analyses, opinion pieces).
•    Multimedia submissions (photos, videos):
o    Photography: Must be high resolution (minimum 300 DPI, JEPG or PNG format). Submissions should include a short description (50-100 words) explaining the context of the image.                                                                    
o    Video: Short documentaries, explainers or creative features should be under 5 minutes, submitted in MP4 format with minimum 1080P resolution. 
o    Illustrations & graphical post: High-quality images in PNG, JPE or SVG format with a short description and credits (if applicable) 
•    Cartoon/ Comics:                                                               
o    Medium: The submission can be hand drawn or digitally drawn. In the case of hand drawn submission, it needs to be scanned and sent to us.
o    The specifications for these artworks are as follows: JPEG, png, .psd format, high resolution (300 DPI), maximum 1.5 MB per image. CMYK.
o    All these artworks will be shown on our website, selected artworks will be printed in Nature Insights inaugural magazine.

Rights & Permissions

•    You retain full ownership of your work but grant Nature Insights a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to edit, publish, share, and promote it across our platforms.
•    If your submission includes third-party content (e.g., quotes, images), you must ensure proper permissions and attribution.

Review & Editing

  • All submissions will undergo a review process. Nature Insights will have the final Editorial right to enhance clarity, modify, or compliance with guidelines.

  • Selected works may be modified for length, clarity, or SEO optimization while maintaining the original intent.

Plagiarism & Ethical Standards

•    Submitted content must be your original work. Plagiarism or AI-generated content without disclosure will lead to rejection.
•    Research-based papers must include citations and references as appropriate.

Publication & Removal

  • Submission does not guarantee publication. Selected works will be featured on Nature Insights’ website, social media, or print publications.

  • Nature Insights will reserve the right to modify or cancel this call for submissions at any time, for any reason, without prior notice.

  • Authors may request removal of their work (within five working days after confirmation) by providing written notice, though Nature Insights reserves the right to keep previously published material in archives.

Compensation & Acknowledgment

  • Nature Insights is a non-commercial platform, and submissions are voluntary and unpaid. However, published contributors will receive full credit and recognition.

  • By submitting, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to these terms.

Nature Insights Contributor Ethics

As a contributor to Nature Insights, a magazine dedicated to restoring nature and promoting sustainable, inclusive futures, I affirm my commitment to responsible, honest, and respectful storytelling aligned with our mission.

1. Integrity and Originality

My submission is original, plagiarism-free, and not previously published unless disclosed.

All sources, data, and external media are properly cited, and others’ contributions are acknowledged.

2. Ethical Storytelling

I will uphold truth, transparency, and factual accuracy.

I will avoid misinformation, manipulation, and sensationalism.

Any conflicts of interest (financial, ideological, or relational) will be clearly disclosed.

3. Respect and Inclusion

My work will remain free from discriminatory or harmful language.

I will represent people, communities, and ecosystems with empathy, accuracy, and respect.

I will honor cultural diversity, indigenous knowledge, and gender inclusivity, exercising care with vulnerable groups and ecosystems.

4. Confidentiality

Editorial discussions, peer reviews, and unpublished materials will remain confidential.

Shared ideas or drafts during collaboration will be treated with ethical discretion.

5. Creative Rights

I own or have permission to use all submitted materials.

I accept Nature Insights’ copyright policy, which may involve shared or transferred rights for publication.

6. Editorial Collaboration

I accept that revisions may be requested for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the magazine’s mission.

I will respond respectfully and promptly to editorial feedback.

7. Accountability

I understand that breaches—such as plagiarism, misinformation, or unethical representation—can result in rejection, retraction, or future exclusion.

Serious violations may have legal or reputational consequences.

8. Authorship Ethics

Articles derived from others’ work must acknowledge the original author.

The original author must be offered co-authorship or the option to decline before publication.
